Skipping rope[ we tied to the lampost outside of our house.] for games indoors, tiddly winks, snakes and ladders, fuzzy felt,
At Christmas time in our stocking we would find, an orange, sugar pig, sugar mice, tin of toffees in an decorated tin.
For Christmas day the dinner was the most important day of the year as it maybe for some people now. The table full of plenty of good food. turkey or goose, roast potatoes lots of veg, stuffing, Christmas pudding that had been steamed for hours. white sauce with brandy.
After all the washing up we would sit down and play. the grownups would play cards or games. Teatime came and the Christmas cake came out on the table. nobody wanted much as the had a big dinner. Tea time meant Christmas crackers. we couldnt wait to see what was inside them.
